About Andrew Farmer

I’m a trademark attorney and finance professional. In my day job, I work in the corporate venture capital group of a large academic medical center, where I interact with founders and entrepreneurs on a daily basis. That vantage point shapes how I practice law: I know what early-stage companies need, and I know how much every dollar matters.

I’ve worked in patent and trademark law for nearly a decade, first through a contract with the USPTO and now in private practice. I also hold an MBA, am a CFA charterholder, and have spent eight years in corporate finance, treasury, and investment. As a lifetime pianist, I’m qualified to help with sound and music trademark registrations too.

About the Firm and
My Promise to You

My firm ethos is simple:
I will not squander your money.

Over my career, I’ve seen all the waste in the legal profession — expensive filings that create no value, billing by the hour with no end in sight, and sloppy work that creates costly downstream problems. As a finance professional trained to sniff out waste, I can’t stand it. That’s why I’m passionate about legal representation that’s fast, practical, and financially predictable.

To this end, here are my firm rules:

Most of my services are flat fee, and if one is not, I will do my best to estimate its cost for you beforehand.

I don’t bundle services.
You only pay for what you need.

I will not conduct billable work without your approval and will discuss charges with you in advance.

It’s that simple.
