About Andrew Farmer

I have deep experience in intellectual property law, start-up work, and business finance and strategy. I’ve worked in patent and trademark law for nearly a decade, first on a contract with the USPTO and now in private legal practice, and in addition, I also have strong business background. I completed an MBA, spent four years in corporate finance and treasury, and today, work for a multi-national company’s corporate venture capital team where I analyze start-ups for potential investments. As a lifetime pianist, I am also qualified to help you with your sound and music trademark registrations.

About the Firm and
My Promise to You

My firm ethos is simple:
I will not squander your money.

Over my career, I’ve seen all the waste in the legal profession – gaps between business and IP strategies, expensive legal filings that create no value, disregard for the client’s wallet, and sloppy work that creates costly downstream problems. As a finance professional trained to sniff out waste, I can’t stand it. In fact, it’s the reason I founded my firm: to give clients, especially those start-up founders with big dreams and tight pocketbooks, top notch legal service at a reasonable price.

To this end, here are my firm rules:

Most of my services are flat fee, and if one is not, I will do my best to estimate its cost for you beforehand.

I don’t bundle services.
You only pay for what you need.

I will not conduct billable work without your approval and will discuss charges with you in advance.

It’s that simple.
